During this period of partial closure this school site continues to be open for provision for vulnerable pupils and children of key workers. This will continue over the period of the Easter holidays. Irrespective of any partial closure or collaboration with another school, the safeguarding of all our children remains our top priority. At this time, our school will continue as normal in supporting our vulnerable children and if anyone has any questions regarding this they are asked to make contact with the Headteacher, Dr. Townsley. For the duration of this school closure, a new email has been set up for any queries about provision for our vulnerable workers and children of key workers. Please email the school via firstname.lastname@example.org or call during the working day (8.50 - 3.15) if you have any queries.
Safeguarding our children is of paramount importance to us at English Martyrs, and this remains our priority during the current school closure. The document below is an annex to our Child Protection Policy and details how will continue to safeguard our children during this unprecedented time.
We know that the school closing can be a difficult concept for children to understand. We have attached a simple PDF about this that may support your children while they get used to new routines.
We know that home learning will have it's challenges, and that there will be good days and bad days. Please remember that we are not asking you to be teachers, you are a parent and what your child needs at this time is safety, security, support and love. When it comes to the home learning, establishing expectations and a routine are essential. This video from the Education Endowment Fund might be helpful in supporting discussions with your child and there is a ticklist that goes with it. It's not about completing pages of work or reams of writing, but keeping your child going with their basic skills, engaging their curiosity, awakening some new interests ... and having some fun and rewards along the way!
