  Today's update comes from the children:

   

  "Having a great time"

   

  "Arundel is an awesome, fun, cool place and we have had a great time"

  "It has been great hanging out with my friends and learning about Arundel"

   

  All in all, it sounds like they've really enjoyed themselves.  Please collect your child from Sussex Heritage Centre at 4.00pm today...we're sure you've missed them!

   

  

• Year 1s have fun in the sun at their Picnic Party

  We had a beautiful sunny day for our Year 1 picnic.  The children worked so hard to prepare the food themselves, and did an amazing job.  Great British Bake Off, here we come!  Thank you to all the friends and family who came along, we hope that you enjoyed it.  Thank you also to the Year 1 team for all their hard work in helping the children to prepare for this.

  After a fun morning visiting the Cathedral, it was time for a play and some lunch.  Mr Cousins appears to be having as much fun as the children!

  Good morning Year 5 parents and carers.  The children have had a good sleep and feasted on a delicious breakfast this morning.  The are now heading to the Cathedral in the beautiful sunshine.

• Pond Dipping in the Sunshine for Year 5!

  It's the first day of the Year 5 residential trip to Arundel and the children are enjoying the sunshine!

   

  We have been developing our scientific understanding through pond dipping and searching for invertebrates.  We have learnt about the adaptations invertebrates have that help them to survive in the environment.  

   

  Next, the children are looking forward to spending some of their money in the shop.  A great start to their adventure!

  We have updated our class pages to include the Powerpoint or a PDF of the Powerpoint from the Welcome Meetings.   You will find these are saved within the 'Current Learning' part of the class page - you will need to scroll down and they are underneath the current topic maps.  We hope that you will find them useful, but please do speak with your child's class teacher if you have any unanswered questions.

• Children on the new playground equipment!

  We were able to let the children play on the new playground exercise equipment today!  In assembly, we pulled the name of a year group out of a hat for which class would be the first to try it out, and Year 3 were the lucky winners.  It was a great hit.  Thank you so much to all involved in the fundraising for this and the work to prepare the area for its instalment. 

  

• First day back at school ... and we were overrun with pirates!

  Welcome back, everyone.  We had a really lovely first day, and it was great to see the children returning with big smiles and lots of enthusiasm. We also had a pirate invasion as the Year 2s came back dressed as pirates to start their new topic.  I'd expected the children to have grown ... but not beards!
