If your child is not offered a place at English Martyrs Catholic Primary School, Goring you have the right to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel (set up in accordance with sections 88 and 94 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998). Appeals must be made in writing and must set out the reasons on which the appeal is made.  Appeals should be made to the Admissions Appeal Clerk at the school address. Appeals should be lodged no later than 20 school days after the National Offer Day for primary schools (16 April 2022). Completed paperwork must be received by the school no later than 17 May 2022, and will be heard within 40 school days. The appeals system is operated independently from the school.  Parents/carers have the right to make oral representations to the Appeal Panel.

In-Year Admissions Application Form

Admissions to all Year Groups

To apply for a place outside of the normal Admissions round, please telephone the school on 01903 502868, or email for further information.

If there is a vacancy in the relevant year group and no other family has applied for it, the school will allocate a place as soon as possible. If there is no vacancy, or if the number of applications is greater than the number of vacancies, the governors will at once establish a waiting list for the relevant Year Group, or add the applicant’s name to an already established waiting list. Places will be offered to applicants whose names appear on the waiting list strictly on the basis of the oversubscription criteria.  Please see our Admission Policy.  Parents also have the right to appeal.  In-year applications will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

There is a lots of information on the website that will give you a flavour of our school.  The weekly newsletters, which can be accessed via the home page, give you an insight into the day to day life of our school.  If you go to the Class Pages (again, under the 'Children' tab) you will be able to gain a picture of the learning opportunities that we give to the children and how learning develops throughout the school.

If you have a child with specific needs - who has an EHCP or if you are in the process of applying for one - and you feel that you need to see the school to know if it is the right setting for you, please call the office and speak to either Mrs Bevans or Mrs Angell who will be able to provide you with more information.
