English Martyrs Catholic

Primary School

A Learning Community in Christ

Welcome

Welcome to English Martyrs Catholic Primary School.

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I would like to warmly welcome you to the website of English Martyrs Catholic Primary School. I hope our school website will give you an insight into the life of our busy, friendly and nurturing school. As a Catholic school we offer our children the opportunity to grow as young people and encourage them to develop a closer relationship with God in an atmosphere of mutual love and respect.

English Martyrs is a school we are all proud of. Our school is a vibrant, positive place that provides a safe and welcoming environment in which to learn. Visitors to our school frequently comment upon how strong our sense of community is, and our friendly and supportive ethos is upheld and treasured by us all.

As a Catholic School, we seek to live out the values of Jesus Christ. We promote these values by our words and deeds, recognising that every child is unique and is created in the image of God. Jesus told us to "Love one another as I have loved you" and this reminds us every day to go the extra mile for the children within our care. As a ‘learning community in Christ’, our faith is central to all that we do within our school.

At English Martyrs, we are fortunate to have such a talented and hard working staff who provide an outstanding quality of care. We pride ourselves on our knowledge of each and every individual within our school and we encourage all our children to aim high. A particular strength of our school is our commitment to sport. Our collection of sports trophies is a testament to the hard work and energy of our staff in providing such diverse opportunities and superb coaching for our children. We are also blessed with wonderful school grounds which provide opportunities for the children to develop their sporting talents and give ample space for them to play and learn in a stimulating outdoor environment. Another feature of our school that we are particularly proud of is our spacious and well-stocked library, which puts reading at the heart of our school.

We aim to cultivate first class partnerships with parents and carers, governors, the local community and our parish families who play such an important part in the life of our thriving school. We are a school that encourages parental help and support, and we believe that a child’s education is a partnership which reaches its full potential when all parties feel valued, respected and needed.

I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for.  Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have.
